When we moved to Austin I struggled with finding a job. I was hired two separate times by two companies that could only offer me part-time work. Going in excited, the jobs were not what I expected them to be, nor what I needed them to be. So after a multiple job-related struggles, and conversations with my husband, it was time to leave those companies behind in pursuit of something better.
Now, 5 months (on & off), 10+ interviews, 1 temp job, and still no full-time employment later... I've decided to start a blog that will showcase my creative side.
For a long time I have been making things. Most of these handmade gems ended up being gifts for family, friends, kids, etc.
My Mammaw told me that I have a gift...it was passed down to me from her grandmother who made clothing/toys from feed sacks. It's not always something that can be taught. "It's in your blood and you are a fantastic, creative seamstress!"
So this is it...the beginning of what will be a beautiful friendship. It will capture me in the unending moments of creativity, sitting down at the sewing machine to make something amazing!
I am the out of work seamstress. Loving what I do and trying to make a living by doing it.
First! Haha. Can't wait to see you stuff! I'm telling everyone to follow you.
